Thanks for stopping by to learn a little more about me and the blog! It's very nice of you!
About Me
If you haven't gathered from the little blurb to the right, my name is Sophie. I'm in my late twenties (not as shocking or upsetting as I would have thought) and during the day I am a Nanny.
Not the Fran Fine kind of nanny - while I was a live-in Nanny like for a number of years, I could never pull off the outfits that she did. Plus it's very hard to copy her iconic voice. I also never fell in love and married my very wealthy boss. Otherwise, things are pretty similar. I care and nurture tiny humans and ensure that they are learning about the world and the things they need to know.
When I'm not working, I'm usually studying a degree in Psychology where I'm majoring in child development. When I need a break from that, you can find me on the computer playing the Sims 4 or on the PS4 playing something.
The PS4 is very new. While my loving partner (who will be referred to as T on here) has always been a gamer, I've never really gone deep into it until recently. After watching a lot of people streaming their games and sharing them on YouTube, I thought that I would give it a go and so in mid-November 2018 I started to upload gaming videos to YouTube. It's a lot of fun and I'm slowly getting into a rhythm with it.
When I'm not writing on here you can probably find me on my other blog The Bulletin Board. I can't remember a time when I haven't had something to do with crime TV or True Crime in my life. Whether it's my love for the TV Show Criminal Minds or listening to a True Crime Podcast, my life has had elements of this genre in it - something which I both blame and thank my mother for. Which is my main inspiration for creating a True Crime focused blog.
About My Life
T and I have been together for nearly 4 years as of December 2018. We did the majority of those years as a long distance couple as I worked in Sydney and T is in the Military as was posted in both the Northern Territory and Victoria during that time. At the end of 2017, we decided enough was enough and finally managed to coordinate our lives so we could live in the same city together. As well as living with T, I also live with our two dogs - or our first and second children as we call them.
Arlo is our Great Dane. He's a Blue Mantle and the runt of his litter, so he's a little slower hitting some of his growth milestones (nothing too concerning, he's just a little smaller than other Danes his age). T wanted to call him Scooby Doo when we got him, but I vetoed that. It would have been fitting as Arlo has anxiety and many things put him on edge. Not many noises - mainly things like boxes and new furniture!
Daphne is our German Shepherd cross Rottweiler/Kelpie. She is a little younger than Arlo but in many ways, she can out think him. She is too clever for her own good to the point that we have to lock the front and back doors because the little Miss can open them. She can also open our bedroom door which results in the two of them sleeping on our bed.
About the Blog
I've been an on-again off-again blogger for a while but with the last year of my 30's coming up, I wanted to document it in some way. While I love watching vloggers, I personally don't have the energy to record and edit a video every day right now. So instead I thought I would go to another interest of mine, writing, and start up a blog. While PsychNanny did start a little earlier than my birthday, I wanted to get everything set up and ready so that when I did start posting every day it would be a lot easier. Plus it would give those who were interested a chance to get to know me a little better.
